Going into the draft, Buffalo Bills fans were hesitant to watch because of how painful the past few years have been. The Bills haven’t made a pick that would change the way they play. However, this year professional draft analysts, Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay, said to be excited about the upcoming season.

McShay and Kiper thought that the Bills did a superb job in this year’s draft. Their draft was done under somewhat awkward circumstances. Their new head coach Sean McDermott  was running the draft room while general manager Doug Whaley and his scouting staff were in the process of getting fired. “I thought the Bills had a great draft,” McShay said. “Obviously, they were working through their front office situation, but just focusing on the football part of it and what they did, I thought it was one of the best drafts that they’ve had in years.”

Just in case you missed it, the Bills traded spots in the first round with the Kansas City Chiefs. As a part of that trade, the Bills got a 2017 first and third round pick as well as a 2018 first round pick. With their first pick they selected a cornerback from LSU by the name of Tre’Davious White. Doug Whaley then followed that pick with East Carolina’s star wide receiver, Zay Jones and Temple’s premier offensive lineman, Dion Dawkins in the second round. The Bills then picked up linebackers Matt Milano, from Boston College and Tanner Vallejo, from Boise State. These two players are special teams guys says Kiper. What really surprised Kiper and Mcshay was drafting Pittsburgh’s quarterback Nathan Peterman in the fifth round. “The Nate Peterman pick jumps out right away, because they got what I believe to be the most pro-ready quarterback in this year’s draft,” McShay said. This is absolutely huge for the Buffalo Bills, who’ve had consistent quarterback struggles in recent years. Tyrod Taylor is still the guy in Buffalo but everybody knows he isn’t franchise material.

Well, if Kiper and McShay are loving this Bills draft then there is no reason that you shouldn’t be shouting in the streets that the Bills are back and looking hungry. Time to start planning that Super Bowl parade.
